How to Prepare Corn on the Cob ~ It’s Not What You Think!

How to Prepare Corn on the Cob

How you prepare your meals can take careful planning and thought as to what to start cooking first. I will be honest ~ I never had any interest in learning how to cook or bake until my senior year of high school.  Even then it was not like I was the next Rachael Ray!

Well, fast forward to the present and I am a wife & mom.  A mom of 2 toddlers I might add!  I don’t have a lot of time in the kitchen…or any room really.  I feel like I am going in 20 different directions at once any given time of day.

So when I came across this amazing “how to” on Pinterest, I could not wait to try it out.  This past Friday, we went to the farmer’s market in the park near my house.  We bought corn on the cob, green peppers and gigantic tomatoes from the display that Romberger’s Farm had out there that day.

It is so easy and really something the kids could help you with once the corn cools down.  Here’s how you get started…

Make sure you preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Then I like to line all my cookie sheets with foil before using them.  It just makes clean up THAT much easier.

Next all you do is place the corn on the baking sheet and put it in the oven for 25-30 minutes.  Set a timer and walk away!  Call a friend, fold a bucket of laundry, spend time with your kids or maybe just make the other parts of dinner.

Once the corn is done, I cut the larger end of the ear off which makes it easier to peel the shucks and corn silk off.  It will literally just come right off because of the moisture  that was retained by leaving everything in tact.
