Nettalk Duo WiFi Review & Giveaway

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review a netTALK Duo WiFi telephone device.  You might be asking yourself “What is netTALK??”  Simply put, it is a device that allows you to use your internet connection to make & receive phone calls.  Therefore eliminating the need for a traditional landline.

With netTALK you will get features like:

  • Call Blocking/Call ID Blocking
  • 30 day money back guarantee
  • WiFi enabled
  • Choose your own phone number or keep your existing number
  • Free local and long distance calling to the U.S. and Canada
  • Duo-to-Duo calls are FREE anywhere in the world
  • 411 directory assistance
and many more featured on their site!
I feel that my husband is better at setting things like this up, so I let him do most of the set up process.  However, it was not very hard to follow the printed instructions anyway.  You can also access info via the internet and help via customer service.

The things I liked about netTALK is that you can go through your internet connection for phone calls and that it is one set price for a year, each year you have it.  The one thing that I did not like was that there were no local numbers for me to choose from when it came time to pick a telephone number.   Perhaps it is because of a recent shortage of numbers with our local prefix, but either way that is not convenient for family or friends right here in town that want to call us without it costing them long distance.

I will be honest when I tell you I did experience one dropped call and one call that was choppy.  The person on the other end was on a traditional landline each time.

netTALK is available at Target and other participating retailers.
netTALK also has a new and free Android App (works on most Android devices) that provides Free Calling throughout the US and Canada with the option to add low-cost international TALK credits to make calls from anywhere to anywhere in the world (with cell phone / WiFi service) without running up cell phone minutes or roaming charges. Great for traveling and keeping in touch with family and friends abroad! The app is available free at www.nettalk.com and at Google Play.

Florida for us (and we live in SC), so not too terribly far by distance, but it feels far when we’re missing my family!
