Nutrisystem Nation Blogger ~ Week Five

I can’t believe I’ve just completed the fifth week of my Nutrisystem journey!  I really didn’t know what to expect this week because I had gained the week prior.  However, I am happy to say that I lost 2 lbs.  I am still only down 6 lbs total.  I shouldn’t say ‘only’ because it is a step in the right direction.  I know that I wish it was more, but I am still proud of myself.

For me, personally, it is a lot harder as time goes on and you would think it was easier because it’s been nearly a month and a half.  Things that make it hard for me are not just amounts of food or certain types of food that I can or can’t have.  Sometimes it is really discouraging when I hear of someone getting gastric bypass.  I know there are HUGE risks that go along with that and the aftercare is also very important.  I guess it feels like why can’t working at it the traditional way give results like a surgical procedure?!  It just doesn’t feel fair to me.  Don’t get me wrong, I am not judging anyone who has gotten that done.  I just don’t fully understand it.

In my small town, it almost seems like the “cool thing” to do lately.  Yes, I know a doctor has to give the final approval and it is quite a process beforehand.  I’ve had friends and acquaintances go through with it – both with good and bad, scary results.  Of course, I know there are potential risks with being overweight and that’s why I am here, right?!  Life can be such a rollercoaster, can’t it?!  If I didn’t have the support of my husband, in-laws, great friends and even my kiddos being my grocery shopping buddies (they are only 2 and 3 years old), I really don’t think I would keep plugging along with this healthy journey.  Thanks for reading!

  1. You can do this! It sounds like you are doing well so far—weight lost is better than weight gained! I took part in a 6 month weight loss competition recently and lost 30lbs and 31 inches. The biggest thing for me was drinking lots of water and getting time in for “me”, which is hard when you are a mom. I try to do squats and stuff while I’m cooking and doing chores—makes it interesting! ha ha! Good luck though, you got this! :)
