Pantene #Beautiful Lengths

Rewind to March of 2011…My mother-in-law had been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.  She opted to have a double mastectomy and just be done with it rather than have to have one removed and then go through the emotional & physical rollercoaster a second time.  She is my best friend and very special to me.  Not your “typical mother-in-law”.  She doesn’t meddle in my life (even though I tell her pretty much everything lol) and she is always there for me/my little family no matter what, no questions asked, no matter what she has going on.  This whole situation/diagnosis was extremely upsetting to say the least.

Fast forward to present…She is “fine”—actually doing wonderfully.  For the next 5 years, she has to be on her maintenance medication and see her team of doctors every 3-6 months unless she feels she wants to be seen sooner.  Her hair has come back beautifully! So thick, full, natural body/wave.

But you still think “What can I do?”  Well, in this case you really can’t do much except think good thoughts, stay as positive as possible and say a few good prayers.  Sure, you can purchase things where proceeds go to the foundations, societies, groups, fundraisers, etc…BUT how easy is it to grow your hair out and donate it?  EASY PEASY I tell you.  :)  It is the 2nd time I have donated since March 2011 and makes 18 inches of hair sent off to Pantene.

You can celebrate the life of that special person who was diagnosed, as well as help out another special someone that you don’t even know.    It just gives you that amazing feeling inside of your heart knowing you did something so wonderful.

You just need to have clean, dry hair in an 8 inch (minimum) ponytail in order to donate.  To read more of the requirements and information about Pantene Beautiful Lengths program, please visit their Facebook page here. You can also visit their website here.

I was not asked to write this by Pantene, my hairdresser or anything like that.  I wanted to share with you all something/someone that is very important to me.  I am not trying to persuade you to donate or push any views/feelings on you.   I just want to give you all a glimpse into my life every now and then too :)  Thank you for reading.
